The Gloucester Rugby Community Charity would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part in both the Cheltenham Half and the Community Mile on Sunday on behalf of our charity.
After months of training, runners including CEO Stephen Vaughan, Rugby Development Manager Terry Fanolua and Head of Academy Richard Whiffin took to the 13.1 mile course around Cheltenham, recording great times and raising money for the Gloucester Rugby Community Charity at the same time.
It was a fantastic day and it was also great to see the Gloucester Rugby academy players volunteering at the finish line giving out the medals.
The Gloucester Rugby Community charity uses sport to enhance people’s lives with a particular focus on those with social and other disadvantages. The Cheltenham Half provided us with a great opportunity to help us to encourage people to become more active, with the majority of our runners having never run before let alone 13miles. It was also great to encourage school children to get involved with the Community Mile.
The final amount is still being counted as sponsorship is still rolling in. If you would like to sponsor our team it’s not too late, simply click here
